In case you haven't noticed. Social media is rampant with people trying to become the next Atticus or Rupi Kaur; not necessarily in content as much as money.
I'm not trying to say that people are writing the stuff that they are writing right now on Social Media to make a quick buck. I am fairly convinced that most of the people who I've interacted with would be writing in one form or another regardless, but we'd all like to be able to make a living doing something that we enjoy as much as writing.
Anyways...I'm in that camp. I enjoy writing and my @poetmcpoetface account is probably one of my favorite things that I've ever used Instagram for. I actually had pretty strong growth in the beginning. I'm not sure if it started to stall out or if I wasn't interacting as much as I had been so people weren't as interested in my stuff since I wasn't going to immediately like and comment on their posts.
I've gotten back into the community again, a little bit. I'm following back people who I think are somewhat interesting. I've let go of the idea that I would be about to grow while only following six-hundred people.
Also, I've started using a few other writing apps.
Fair warning! All of these links will take you to my profile, assuming that I'm still there whenever you read this.

I want to love this one because out of all of them it is the site that is most purely about the writing. But, I don't. I still post stuff on here, and I'm trying to follow and participate but I'm just not feeling it.
I'm going to keep coming back here but there is just something inherently uninteresting. I'm not sure if it's the layout or the writing or what.
I contacted them the other day because I read somewhere that they provided prompts for members to participate in. I have no idea where the results of those prompts are. Here's their response:
So, I guess that they communicate through their social media but that seems absurd since I go to their actual site. Anyways, there it is. If you haven't checked it out, you should. They've said that they are going to be rolling out some updates.
